Swearing-in of the Mayor of Wrocław

The swearing-in of the new president is an important moment in the life of the local government. The Mayor of Wrocław, Rafał Dutkiewicz, was sworn in for a fourth term. On this occasion, we organized a solemn session of the city council. It announced, among m.in, the fight against bureaucracy and increasing the participation of residents in the management of the city. In his speech preceding the taking of the oath, Dutkiewicz emphasized that the greatest asset of Wrocław is its academic character. "Wrocław is a Polish and European city immersed in three traditions: Lviv, the old – centuries-old and multinational, and the most recent, created in recent decades. It is a city of new technologies, modern economy and local and foreign business," he said. Dutkiewicz stressed that the creation of new jobs must be accompanied by an increase in the quality of life of Wrocław residents. "This means the development of housing, the construction of new nurseries and new places in kindergartens. It is also an increase in the level of education and improvement of the public transport system." He added that the municipality will ask Wrocław residents "more deeply and more often" about their opinions.
