Conference as part of the European Capital of Culture 2016
For Wrocław, the title of the European Capital of Culture is a great distinction. We feel honored to be a part of it. In the National Forum of Music in the Red Hall, we had the great pleasure of co-organizing another meeting as part of this initiative. The conference was aimed at discussing the "Celebration of European Cinematography" – the 29th European Film Awards gala. On Saturday, 10 December, the National Forum of Music will announce the winner of the award for the best European film. The Gala is a prestigious event, but an industry event, closed to the public. Roman Gutek wanted Wrocław to feel the atmosphere and magic of this event. The director of the T-mobile New Horizons International Film Festival has therefore invited the audience to a film review. Films awarded with the European Film Award were screened, as well as those nominated for it in this year's edition. The conference was attended by Rafał Dutkiewicz – Mayor of the City of Wrocław, Agnieszka Holland – Chairwoman of the Board of the European Film Academy, Roman Gutek, Mike Downey – Vice-President of the Board of the European Film Academy, Antonio Saura – Vice-President of the Board of the European Film Academy, Bogdan Czaja – Deputy Programme Director of TVN and Zbigniew Preisner – composer. The meeting was hosted by Kinga Rusin.
